Mary Pjevac has always had an avid curiosity about the natural world. She started off young collecting cicada nymph sheds in jars which she carried around with her everywhere. She attended Southern Utah University where she earned a bachelors of science degree in biology with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. Life changed drastically when she adopted two children from Foster care and added them to her family.
Quickly she learned about autism, ADHD, and trauma informed care. Working at Moonridge Academy offered Mary a way to learn and work with therapists and children like hers. After being a mentor and shift lead for 6 years she decided to go back to her interests in science and biology. She became licensed with Utah state to teach and teaches at Moonridge Academy and Kolob Canyon schools.
Mary is married to her husband Ken and has 4 children. Maya, Tristan, Landon and Alexi.
