Brent Romines joined the Moonridge Academy team as a mentor. He then moved into the position as Adventure Director.
Brent grew up in Sacramento, CA. Shortly after high school he joined the Navy as a Corpsman, which is like beieng a medic. Brent was stationed in Italy, NC and CA during his 10 years in the Navy. During that time Brent held many roles. He worked as an EMT and assisted with nursing and immunizations. For much of his military experience, Brent was attached to the Marine Corps as a combat medic. In this capacity, Brent did a few deployments overseas and taught combat trauma management for a few years afterwards.
After the military Brent went to college and worked for a non-profit waterfowl conservation organization in CA, traveling to schools and educating students about wetlands, hunting and conservation. He was finally brought to Utah to put his GI bill to more use. He is currently enrolled in the aviation program, learning to fly helicopters. Flying is something Brent has wanted to do since childhood, but was not sure he could, due to his fear of heights. It took a few flights, but he learned that this is a fear that can be overcome. He now absolutely loves being in the sky.
Towards the end of his military service, Brent started a family and had two young boys at the time. His sons are now 9 and 11 years old. They are the pride of his life and, like Brent, share his passion for adventure and the outdoors. Brent has always loved the outdoors and enjoys teaching his own children as well as the students at Moonridge everything he knows while sharing his passion with them along the way. He has come to really love Utah and thoroughly enjoys all it has to offer for the outdoors. He feels very fortunate to be in a position at Moonridge Academy to be able to share his passion for the outdoors and adventure with those around him.
